  • EXTENDED FIRING RANGE
  • QUICK REACTION TIME
  • HIGH FIRE PRECISION
  • TRANSPORTABILITY C130
  • EXCELLENT LETHALITY
  • EXCELLENT FOR CLOSE FIRE SUPPORT

INTRODUCTION
The 105 Self-Propelled (SP) Howitzer is based on the unique 105 mm Towed Gun Howitzer ballistic system as developed by Denel, packaged in an integrated and lightweight turret system.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The T7 turret can be integrated with a vehicle or platform that can accommodate a slewing bearing diameter of 2210 mm and a trunnion recoil transfer force of 25 metric tons. The T7 turret as fitted to a LAV III is transportable by a C-130 additionally the turret layout allows for crew egress/ingress through the vehicle's crew volume to assist access during C-130 RO-RO handling and operations.
The T7 design is the culmination of the Denel's technical capabilities established both in turreted infantry / artillery systems and artillery ballistic developments in the preceding years.

Sighting and laying

Non line of sight firing

The Commander station is equipped a Fire Directing System (FDS) integrating a Honeywell TALIN (Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator) and which interfaces to the Gun Control Unit (GCU) that provides for automatic gun laying through hydraulic elevation / traverse drives giving a consistency (range) of .36% and a consistancy (deflection) of 2 mil and enhances rapid target engagement.

LINE OF SIGHT FIRING
Thermal Imaging Sight (TIS)

NON-LINE OF SIGHT
The system is equipped with an esternal mounted thermal imaging sight (TIS) for target aquisition.

Ammunition handling
The ammuntion handling system is a positive chain type rammer controlled from the integrated Loader Control Panel. This system enables fully automatic ramming of both the projectile and charge. Manual loading of the system provides for redundancy.
