Denel Land Systems (DLS) has been recently presented with a highly prestigious Best Employers Award for the year 2012/13, for the second time in succession.

It was all glitz and glamour at Sandton Sun, an elite venue selected for the awards ceremony. This year, a total of 73 companies were listed whereby the Certification Index identifies choice employers by administering an International HR policy and practice research survey.

The CRF Institute is a specialist in the field of international research on HR management and working conditions. It was founded in 1991 in the Netherlands and conducts research on employee offerings in 13 countries on five continents.

With this certification, DLS now forms part of an international group of Best Employers in Australia, China, the UK, Brazil and many other countries around the world.

The Index is the culmination of many months of extensive research. The research findings

are independently audited by Grant Thornton, South Africa.

Denel Land Systems earned the certification as a Best Employer because over 100 HR policies and employee offerings either measure up to, or are superior to, the International Standards of Best Practice.

The CRF Institute assessed DLS offerings on the following criteria:

• Primary Benefits;
• Secondary Benefits and Working Conditions;
• Training and Development;
• Career Development;
• Culture Management.

Key to the Best Employers process is that all participating companies must exceed the stringent research criteria in order to receive the Best Employers certification.

Based on the independent audit by Grant Thornton to ensure validity of the process, evidence is in favour of DLS outstanding working conditions and thus deserves a spot among the select number of certified Best Employers.
